Cambridge Church Terror: Man Jailed After Menacing Spree

Mohammed El-Deihi, 34, has been locked up for nearly two years following a shocking rampage of threats and menacing behaviour around Hardwick, near Cambridge. The nightmare began in February 2025 when El-Deihi followed a woman on her morning walk, turning aggressive when confronted.

Locals Harassed and Intimidated Near St Mary’s Church

The terror didn’t ease up. Just a month later, El-Deihi blocked another woman’s path, shouting abuse and swearing. Worried locals watched as he loitered around St Mary’s Church, lingering in doorways and blocking exits despite repeated pleas from churchgoers to keep away.

Threats to Kill and Shocking Public Indecency

June 2025 saw El-Deihi erupt in fury when asked to leave the church, even threatening to kill a man. But his worst act came months later. Barefoot and smeared in mud, he approached a woman at a bus stop, ordered her to “come with me,” and committed a shocking indecent act despite her protests. He only ran off when a passerby intervened.

Guilty Plea and Prison Sentence

At Peterborough Crown Court on 26 February, El-Deihi—who has no fixed address—pled guilty to threats to kill, two counts of threatening or abusive behaviour, outraging public decency, and failing to surrender to bail. He was sentenced to 22 months behind bars.
