A man was seriously injured in a brutal glass attack at a popular sports bar in Trowbridge. The violent assault took place inside Legends Sports Bar in the early hours of Sunday, 20 April, leaving the victim fighting for his life.
The incident occurred just after midnight, around 12.15am, when the victim was struck over the head with a glass inside the well-known Trowbridge venue. Following the attack, the man stumbled out of the bar and collapsed on Castle Street near the Market Street junction.
Paramedics quickly arrived at the scene and transported the man to hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment for his serious injuries.
Wiltshire Police have issued an appeal for witnesses. A spokesperson said, “We are appealing for witnesses following an assault that took place at the Legends Sports Bar, Trowbridge. A man suffered a serious head injury after being struck with a glass and later collapsed outside.”
Police are urging anyone who saw the attack or has any information to come forward immediately. Witnesses can report details by calling 101 and quoting reference number 54250047828. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
The motive for the assault remains unknown. No arrests have been made so far as officers review CCTV footage from inside the bar and surrounding streets. Authorities are also seeking any mobile phone footage or reports of suspicious activity in the area on the night of the attack.
