At 9.09pm on Wednesday, 15 February, police and the London Ambulance Service responded to reports of an injured man in a wooded area near Walthamstow Avenue, E4. Tragically, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Preda Eugene. A post-mortem examination at Poplar Mortuary on Friday, 17 February, confirmed the cause of death as a head injury.
Two suspects have been charged with the murder of Preda Eugene. A 22-year-old man and a 21-year-old man are currently in custody. The Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the investigation.
Detective Inspector Frank Copley said, “Although we’ve charged two people in connection with Preda’s murder, we still want to hear from anyone with info about what happened. We know he lived in a hut in the woods, but how did this tragedy unfold? Did you see anything between Saturday, 11 February, and the day he was found?”
