Kent Police responded swiftly after a woman was threatened by a man demanding her belongings on Canterbury High Street in Canterbury last night.

The incident took place on Thursday, 25 April 2024, and an arrest was made later that same day.

Officers charged 32-year-old Edvaldo Vidal, who resides at Hovenden Close, Canterbury, with attempted robbery and possession of a Class A drug.

Vidal appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court and has been remanded to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on 27 May 2024.

Kent Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to come forward. Witnesses can contact Kent Police on 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/66983/24.
