A 27-year-old man, Oliuwadamilola Ogunyankinnu, has been charged with the murder of 21-year-old film student Finbar Sullivan after a stabbing incident on April 7 at Primrose Hill, a popular location in North London.
Ogunyankinnu, who is from Enfield, was arrested three days following the attack on Friday, April 10. He was officially charged with murder on Sunday, April 12, and is scheduled to appear at Stratford Magistrates’ Court on Monday, April 13. In connection with the case, a 25-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released with no further action.
Finbar Sullivan was not only a victim but also the grandson of renowned cinematographer Michael Seresin. He was a talented student at the London Screen Academy. On the day of the incident, Finbar was heading out with new camera equipment. He had informed his father, artist and musician Chris Sullivan, that he would be home for dinner. Tragically, Finbar sustained multiple stab wounds during the altercation.
Another individual, a friend of Finbar’s in their 20s, was also injured in the incident. This person received emergency treatment for stab wounds, which were not considered life-threatening, and survived.
The stabbing occurred in a busy park where families and friends were enjoying the warm weather following the Easter holiday. Police have appealed to anyone with information or footage related to the incident to come forward, referencing case number 6448/07Apr.
