Kent Police conducted a crackdown on suspected drug activity in Ramsgate on Sunday, November 24. Officers spotted two men acting suspiciously in the Plains of Waterloo at around 9 a.m.
When approached, one man fled on foot while the other jumped into a car. Police quickly followed and stopped the vehicle on Grange Road.
During a thorough search of the vehicle, officers discovered three wraps believed to contain cocaine and crack cocaine, two mobile phones, cash, and a locking knife.
The driver, a 40-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply, as well as carrying a bladed weapon.
The suspect has since been released on bail while detectives verify the substances and continue their investigation. Kent Police are actively working to gather further evidence to disrupt the local drug trade.
A Kent Police spokesperson said, “Thanks to quick action and public awareness, we were able to intercept and prevent further illegal activity. This arrest demonstrates our commitment to keeping Ramsgate safe.”
