Police are on the lookout after an 82-year-old woman was seriously hurt during a shocking car theft on Blatchington Road, Hove.
The horrifying incident happened at around 5.30pm, with emergency services rushing to treat the elderly victim’s serious leg injury at the scene.
The culprit made off in the woman’s red Honda Jazz – registration DU56 VCE – speeding eastbound. Officers are urgently trying to trace both the stolen vehicle and the offender.
Sussex Police have issued a plea for information, asking anyone who witnessed the theft or has CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage to come forward.
They also urge anyone who has spotted the stolen red Honda Jazz to contact them immediately.
Sussex Police request that anyone with information call 101 or report online, quoting serial 988 of 12/01.
Blatchington Road has now reopened, but a strong police presence remains as investigations and community checks continue.
