Police in Greater Manchester are investigating a serious hit-and-run incident on Rochdale Road that left a pedestrian with life-changing injuries late last night.
The collision occurred at approximately 9.25pm when a car struck the pedestrian before fleeing the scene. Authorities quickly located the vehicle nearby and arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with the incident.
The suspect is currently in police custody and is assisting with inquiries into the dangerous driving collision. Officers report that the driver initially refused to stop, which exacerbated the situation.
The Greater Manchester Police Serious Collision Investigation Unit is urging anyone who witnessed the crash or captured it on dash-cam footage to come forward with information.
