At 1.30pm on Saturday 17 December 2022, a woman was sexually assaulted on a westbound train leaving Bethnal Green station. The victim was standing behind a man when he suddenly reached behind her and attacked.
Another passenger acted heroically by stepping in and confronting the man about his behaviour. Following this intervention, the attacker moved away from the victim and exited the train at Tottenham 1 Road.
British Transport Police are now appealing for anyone who recognises the man in the released image or has any information to come forward. Members of the public can assist by texting 61016, calling 0800 40 50 40 and quoting reference 185 of 17/12/22, or by contacting Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
