Detective Thanks Community and Team

“Today’s sentencing provides some closure for Michael’s family after this harrowing investigation,” said Detective Chief Inspector Ellie Hurd. “Pearce’s guilty plea avoided a trial, sparing Michael’s relatives prolonged media exposure. This remains a tough time for his loved ones who ask for privacy.”

“Our team’s exhaustive forensic work and community help were vital in tracking Pearce, who knew Michael and had stayed overnight at the flat. Thanks to everyone in Fareham who came forward with information,” Hurd added.

Justice Served for Fareham Community

Detective Hurd concluded: “This sentencing reflects the severity of this violent crime. The Fareham community can be reassured that justice has been served.”
