Detectives in Gillingham have charged a man with murder after a woman was found dead at a property on Richmond Road.
Kent Police were called to the scene at 4.51pm on Thursday, 16 January 2020. The South East Coast Ambulance Service also attended, where a 39-year-old woman was sadly declared dead.
Just 14 minutes after the initial call, at 5.05pm, Benjamin Bowler, aged 40 and from Richmond Road, was arrested in connection with the incident.
The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate immediately launched a murder investigation following the arrest.
Officers confirmed that the victim and Benjamin Bowler were known to each other.
On Sunday, 19 January, the Crown Prosecution Service formally charged Bowler with murder. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 20 January.
