Three men and a teenage boy have been charged in connection with a brutal kidnap and murder case near Oakwood Hill Industrial Estate, Loughton. The victims were initially reported missing from Enfield, prompting a major police search before their grim discovery.
The suspects named are Erdogan Ulcay, 55, of Oakeshott Avenue, Camden; Ali Kavak, 25, of De Quincey Road, Tottenham; and a 17-year-old boy whose identity is withheld due to age. All three have been charged with the kidnap of a woman and are due to appear in custody at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 20 October. A fourth man, also aged 55, has been released on bail pending further enquiries until mid-November.
The victim has been identified as Koray Alpergin, 43. Police discovered his body near the industrial estate at 11:55 BST on Saturday, 15 October. He was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering severe trauma, according to a post-mortem report.
The Metropolitan Police took over the investigation after initially working alongside Essex Police. Prior to the discovery, officers had been searching for Mr Alpergin and a 33-year-old woman who had been reported missing from Ebony Crescent, Enfield. Fortunately, the woman was found unharmed.
The pair were last seen the night before their disappearance, with police receiving the missing persons report at 13:51 BST on Friday, 14 October. Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command remain heavily involved in the case, working closely with the victim’s family as forensic tests continue.
