Police in Brighton acted swiftly to catch five teenagers red-handed during a burglary at a local business. The incident took place in the early hours of Sunday, 12 October, when a break-in alarm was triggered at City Plumbing Supplies, located in the Freshfield Industrial Estate.
At 3.07am, the alarm alerted officers, who arrived on the scene just four minutes later. Upon arrival, police found the front door of the premises smashed and five youths still inside the building.
Among those arrested was Diego Stoian, 18, from Greenwich, who faces burglary charges. In addition, four boys aged between 15 and 17 from London—whose identities have been withheld—were also charged in connection with the burglary.
All five individuals have been granted conditional bail and are scheduled to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on 13 November.
Police praised their rapid response as crucial to apprehending the suspects. Authorities have also announced an increased focus on tackling business-related crime across Brighton and Hove, signalling a tougher stance on criminal activity in the region.
