Shock has gripped Portsmouth as the city reports its first-ever case of spiking through injection at a popular nightclub. The disturbing event took place just after 2am on Friday at Pryzm nightclub, located on Stanhope Road.
The victim, an 18-year-old woman, noticed tenderness and numbness in her arm before discovering a small injury resembling a pinprick. Hampshire Police responded promptly and transported her to Queen Alexandra Hospital as a precautionary measure.
This alarming case adds to the growing number of spiking incidents in the area, with local police having recorded 18 cases since July. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine how the assault occurred and to identify those responsible.
Hampshire Police have urged anyone with information to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 44210423993. “This incident is currently under investigation and enquiries are being carried out to determine the exact circumstances,” a police spokesperson said.
