Muhammed Mustafa Darr, a former Metropolitan Police officer aged 37, is set to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today. The ex-Met officer is facing serious charges following a corruption investigation that recommended legal action against him.
Darr was previously part of the Met’s North Area Basic Command Unit but no longer serves with the force. The charges relate to alleged offences committed between 2018 and 2020, during his time working on a response unit.
According to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), Darr is accused of misusing police computer systems. This includes unlawfully accessing confidential information and passing it on to an individual outside the police force. He is also alleged to have stolen items from a member of the public’s vehicle.
One of the most disturbing allegations involves Darr using bank cards belonging to deceased persons. These offences reportedly occurred after he attended sudden death scenes, representing a serious abuse of power that has shocked the community.
Darr is due to appear in court later today. The case is expected to attract significant attention as further details of the former officer’s alleged misconduct come to light.
