Essex Police are cracking down on an unauthorised music event scheduled to take place in Chelmsford today, Saturday 14 November. The force has issued a clear warning to anyone considering attending the illegal ‘Soul Sure’ rave – stay away.
Authorities have indicated they are ready to intervene with roadblocks and the seizure of music equipment to prevent the party from going ahead. Officers have already cautioned event organisers about the strict regulations surrounding large gatherings and the continuing threat posed by Covid-19.
Detective Chief Inspector Lewis Basford emphasised the risks involved, stating: “We are concerned for the safety of anyone planning to attend this unauthorised event and the impact it will have on the wider public should it go ahead. The legislation is in place to stop the spread of the virus and keep people safe. Unauthorised events with large crowds pose a real risk to attendees.”
He further added, “Such events can attract troublemakers who spoil it for everyone else. I’d urge anyone thinking of going to think again.”
Essex Police have also warned that organisers of illegal raves or unlicensed music gigs face prosecution. The force’s priority is to stop these events swiftly before any use of force becomes necessary. Their message is clear: don’t risk it. Essex Police mean business.
