Met Police have launched a fresh appeal after Vruj Patel, 26, was slammed with a 22-year jail sentence for horrific sexual offences. Officers are urging any other victims to come forward.
Brutal 22-Year Sentence After Shocking Sex Crimes
Vruj Patel, 26, from Selsdon Road, East 1, was sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday, 7 October. He’s now on the sex offenders register for life.
Patel’s sickening crimes include the rape of a child under 13, assault by penetration, multiple counts of causing child sexual activity, adult rape, possession of indecent images, and voyeurism.
His brother Kishan Patel, 31, received 15 months for possession of child abuse images and has been slapped with a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
Detectives Condemn Offender, Praise Investigators
“Patel is a coward who preyed on vulnerable victims for his own sick gratification,” said Detective Sergeant Rob Blant, lead officer on the case. “His sentence shows the grave danger he posed. We will use every power to keep the public safe.”
“This case highlights the Met’s fierce commitment to tackling violence against women and girls. Our specialist officers work relentlessly to bring offenders to justice,” added Blant.
How the Horror Was Brought to Light
Patel’s crimes were uncovered after Greater 1 Police alerted Met detectives about child abuse videos found on a device sent for repair.
Though the device belonged to Kishan Patel, officers spotted Vruj in the footage from a brief facial glimpse and distinctive jewellery.
Further vile footage showed the rape of a woman after a night out and voyeurism against another child. While most abuse dates back to 2018, police fear Patel’s offending continued more recently.

The Met is urging anyone who suspects children under Patel’s care or at his associates’ homes may have been abused to speak up. More victims could still be out there.
