Gunshots rocked St George’s Road, East London, on Wednesday evening as police rushed to the scene following reports of gunfire at around 6:10pm.
Officers discovered a man in his mid-20s suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics provided treatment at the scene before the victim was taken to hospital. Fortunately, his injury is not believed to be life-threatening.
The Metropolitan Police have established a crime scene and launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident. So far, two suspects have been arrested in connection with the shooting, though police have not disclosed details regarding motives or further information.
“We urge anyone with information to come forward,” said the Metropolitan Police. “Please quote reference CAD 5779/27Nov.”
Local residents expressed shock and concern over the incident, calling for stronger community safety measures to prevent further violence in the area.
