Hackney Predator Jailed for 18 Years Over Child Sex Crimes

Barthimaus Ehiemere Sentenced for Shocking Abuse

Barthimaus Ehiemere, 25, was slammed with an 18-year prison sentence at Snaresbrook Crown Court after being convicted of horrific sexual offences against children. The Hackney man was also handed four years on licence and must register as a sex offender for life.

Horrifying String of Child Sex Crimes Revealed

Ehiemere was found guilty of 15 additional offences after a jury trial on 31 July, adding to 32 charges he had already admitted. The charges include repeated rapes, sexual assaults, and creating indecent images of minors. His victims were seven boys, aged just 12 to 16.

Online Grooming Ring Busted

  • Police began monitoring Ehiemere in September 2020 during an online grooming investigation.
  • A raid on his Hackney flat uncovered devices showing he used Snapchat and Spotafriend to lure boys.
  • He manipulated victims with gifts, money, and compliments into sending indecent images, which he then sold on to other offenders.
  • Six victims from across the UK bravely came forward, revealing some had been abused from as young as 12.

Police Appeal for More Victims to Come Forward

Officers arrested Ehiemere again on 28 October 2024, uncovering more damning evidence, including a seventh victim aged 12.

“Following Ehiemere’s sentencing, detectives are appealing for any further victim-survivors to come forward,” police said.

Parents who suspect their children had contact with Ehiemere via Snapchat or Spotafriend are urged to report it immediately. Victims can reach out online or call 101 quoting Op Teigar to support the investigation.
