Kent Police have arrested and charged a man following a savage killing in Dover.
Officers rushed to a home on Rose Gardens, Eythorne, late on Thursday, 29 January 2026, after reports of a violent assault. Paramedics confirmed that a man in his 20s was dead at the scene. His family have been informed.
Stephen Boyd Rooke, 68, also from Rose Gardens, was arrested at the property. The following day, Friday 30 January, he was formally charged with murder and remanded in custody.
Rooke is due to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 31 January.
Detectives are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward to assist with their investigation. Members of the public are asked to call Kent Police on 01843 222289, quoting reference 29-0289.
