David Huber, 60, from North Stainmore, Cumbria, appeared at Cumbria Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 3 October. He faces a string of serious firearms-related charges following a police investigation.
Huber was charged on 2 October with possession of a bladed article and an offensive weapon. He also faces three counts of possessing ammunition without a firearm certificate and another charge for holding a weapon subject to general prohibition.
The charges relate to an alarming incident on 2 May 2023 when officers detained Huber after he approached Buckingham Palace gates and threw several items into the royal grounds.
Huber was granted bail and is set to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on 3 November for a plea and case management hearing. The case continues to unfold as authorities investigate further.
