A tragic crash involving a car, a bike, and a scooter has left a 13-year-old boy dead and two other teenagers in hospital. The incident has sent shockwaves through Bedfordshire.

Jamie Fountain and Ellie Ireland are charged.

Airport ground worker Jamie Fountain, 24, from Flitwick, Bedfordshire, and easyJet cabin crew member Ellie Ireland, 23, from Ampthill, appeared at Luton Magistrates Court this morning. Both face serious charges relating to the crash.

Fountain is charged with causing death by careless driving. He is also accused of driving over the legal alcohol and drug limit. Additional charges against him include two counts of causing serious injury by careless driving, related to the injured teenagers, failing to stop and report the accident, and conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

Ellie Ireland faces charges of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice.

Neither Fountain nor Ireland entered pleas at the hearing. Both were remanded in custody pending further proceedings.
