Two men were arrested in Canterbury city centre after plainclothes officers observed suspicious behaviour on Tuesday afternoon, 25 June 2024. The men were detained, searched, and subsequently charged with drug offences following the seizure of suspected Class A drugs and cash at the scene.
Kent Police’s County Lines and Gangs Team acted swiftly to charge the suspects, aiming to disrupt the profits from the drug trade and tackle County Lines crime in the region.
Joseph Bademi, aged 20, from Roseberry Street, Rotherhithe, faces charges including supply of crack cocaine and heroin, possession with intent to supply, and possession of criminal property. Devante Adjetey, aged 18, from Chalkwell Road, Sittingbourne, is charged with the same offences, along with possession of cannabis.
Both Bademi and Adjetey are scheduled to appear at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, 27 June 2024. Kent Police continue their efforts to clamp down on drug networks, disrupting dealers and sending a clear message to County Lines operators across the county.
