Driver Charged After Fatal Head-On Crash That Killed Woman
Matthew Gunning, 39, from Braemor Road, Calne, is in the dock charged with causing a deadly crash. He faces court for a tragic collision that claimed the life of a local woman.
Deadly Smash on A3102 Near Calne
The horror crash happened on 26 February 2024 along the A3102. Gunning was behind the wheel of a Vauxhall Zafira when it smashed head-on into a Dacia Sandero.
- The Dacia’s driver, Sheila “Gail” Chilcott, in her 60s from Melksham, died at the scene.
Careless Driving Alleged in Woman’s Death
Police say Gunning drove without due care and attention, leading to the fatal collision.
He is set to appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 9 December to face the charge.
