Wiltshire Police have launched an investigation following an attempted burglary at an electronics warehouse in Swindon.
The break-in attempt occurred in the early hours of Friday, 18 April, at a business located on Faraday Road, Dorcan. Police reported that the suspects struck between 12:20am and 2:00am.
Three criminals used heavy industrial equipment to drill large holes through the back wall of the warehouse. They bored through brick, metal, and insulation, indicating a serious smash-and-grab plan.
Despite the drilling damage, no goods were stolen during the break-in attempt. The warehouse had received a large stock delivery at 4pm the previous day. Investigators are examining whether this delivery influenced the timing of the suspects.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said, “This was a serious and determined attempt to gain access to the premises using specialist equipment. Fortunately, nothing was taken on this occasion, but we are keen to identify those responsible and prevent future incidents.”
Police are asking the public for help. Anyone who was near Faraday Road between midnight and 2am on Friday is urged to report any suspicious vehicles, people, or noises.
