Police in Stoke-on-Trent were called to a home on Hartshill Road just before 12.30pm on Tuesday, June 7, following a distressing report involving a local pet.
Toto, a two-year-seven-month-old cat, was found injured on Monday, June 6. His owner immediately rushed him to an emergency veterinary clinic for urgent medical care. Fortunately, Toto is now recovering safely at home.
Detective Inspector Scott McGrath from the Stoke-on-Trent South Neighbourhood Policing Team described the incident as a “highly distressing crime that resulted in serious injury to a defenceless animal.” He urged anyone with information about the attack to come forward and assist the investigation.
Police are actively investigating the case locally and are seeking any leads. Members of the public who have information are encouraged to contact the police via their official Facebook or Twitter pages, or by calling 101 and quoting incident number 317 of June 7. Alternatively, information can be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
