Broadstairs, Kent – Trouble began just after 4am on Wednesday, 11 December 2024, when a suspicious individual was seen jumping over back fences in Ranelagh Grove, St Peter’s. The quiet neighbourhood was unsettled as the person prowled the area.
At around 5am, a man was observed attempting to force entry into a shed on Grant Close. The incidents continued that evening, with another break-in attempt reported at an outbuilding on Dane Court Gardens at approximately 9pm.
Kent Police have intensified their investigation by releasing CCTV footage of a suspect believed to be connected to the break-in attempts. Authorities are appealing to residents to come forward if they recognise the individual or have any relevant information.
Police have issued a security warning to Broadstairs residents, advising them to take precautions against burglaries. Recommended measures include locking all doors, windows, garages, and outbuildings; activating alarms if available; using external security lights or CCTV; and reporting any suspicious activity immediately. Residents are also encouraged to use timer switches on lights and radios when away to create the impression that someone is home, keep ladders, bins, and other potential climbing aids out of sight, and secure sheds and outbuildings while keeping valuables hidden.
