Police have cordoned off part of Claybank Road Industrial Estate in Portsmouth after a man’s body was discovered inside a vehicle early this morning.
Officers rushed to the scene just after 6am following reports of a man found dead in a car. Since then, multiple police vehicles have been parked along the road while investigators comb the area.
By 9am, police removed a vehicle from the crime scene, which remains enclosed within blue cordon tape. The investigation is ongoing.
Shocked staff at nearby Hancocks said they arrived to find the estate sealed off, with officers tight-lipped about the situation. “There’s been a lot of police here since we got in,” one worker said.
A Hampshire Police spokesperson said: “We were called to the road this morning and have launched an investigation.” More details will follow as the story develops.
