A Birmingham man has been sentenced to eight years in prison after West Midlands Police stopped his illegal firearms operation.

Delayni Woodcock, aged 24, pleaded guilty at Birmingham Crown Court on 10 February. He admitted to conspiring to possess a firearm without a certificate and three counts of conspiring to sell prohibited weapons.

The Major Crime Unit of West Midlands Police uncovered Woodcock’s illegal activities after intercepting messages that showed he was selling guns and ammunition between March 2023 and April 2024. One of the intercepted texts revealed Woodcock asking, “How much is an Uzi?”

Woodcock, who lives on Brockworth Road in Birmingham, was arrested in September 2024. He later confessed to the offences.
