Bill Clinton Makes History as First Ex-President Forced to Testify on Epstein
Bill Clinton has made history — becoming the first former US president ever compelled to testify before Congress against his will. The 79-year-old took a tense deposition near his home in Chappaqua, New York, after facing threats of contempt charges.
Clinton Slams Republicans Over Hillary’s Epstein Hearing
Clinton opened fire on Republicans for dragging his wife Hillary into the Epstein scandal. “You made Hillary come in. She had nothing to do with Jeffrey Epstein. Nothing,” he blasted. “She doesn’t even remember meeting him. She never travelled with him or visited his properties.”
Hillary had testified just a day earlier, denying any real connection to Epstein and only briefly meeting his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell. Clinton ripped into lawmakers, saying, “Whether you subpoena 10 people or 10,000, including her was simply not right.”
‘I Saw Nothing, Did Nothing Wrong,’ Clinton Insists
During the grilling, Clinton repeatedly said he might respond with, “I don’t recall.” “That might frustrate you, but I won’t lie,” he said. “This all happened a long time ago.”
On his relationship with Epstein, Clinton firmly stated, “I saw nothing, and I did nothing wrong.” Getting emotional, he added, “I grew up with domestic abuse. If I’d known what Epstein was up to, I never would have flown on his plane. I would have reported him myself.”
New DOJ Photos Spark Fresh Congressional Inquiry
The latest probe was triggered by fresh Department of Justice photos showing Clinton on Epstein’s infamous private jet with an unknown woman, and swimming with Ghislaine Maxwell — now serving 20 years for sex trafficking minors.
- Epstein visited the White House 17 times during Clinton’s presidency.
- Clinton took 27 flights on Epstein’s plane after leaving office.
- He insists he cut ties well before Epstein’s 2006 arrest.
“Even looking back now, I saw nothing suspicious,” Clinton said. “We’re only here because Epstein hid his crimes so well for so long.”
Clinton confirmed he hadn’t spoken to Epstein for over a decade before Epstein’s 2019 jail death. Hillary confirmed their connection ended years before Epstein’s crimes became public.
No Evidence Ties Clintons to Epstein’s Crimes
So far, neither Bill nor Hillary have been linked to Epstein’s criminal activities. Democrats argue that the powers used to subpoena the Clintons should be applied equally to Donald Trump, who also had Epstein ties.
Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide in a Manhattan jail in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
