Man Dies After Station Road Brawl – Murder Charge Filed
Kent Police rushed to Station Road at 1:49pm on Saturday, 9 March 2024, following a violent altercation. A man in his 40s was taken to a London hospital, where he tragically died on Monday, 15 April.
Serious Crime Detectives Launch Murder Probe
Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate detectives launched an intense investigation. Rashko Kurtev, 31, was initially charged with causing grievous bodily harm over the incident.
Birchington Man Now Faces Murder Charge
On Friday, 14 June, Kurtev of Park Avenue, Birchington, was hit with a new charge: murder related to the Station Road attack.
He appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 15 June. Kurtev was remanded in custody and will face Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday, 18 June.
