A 94-year-old woman faces sentencing after admitting to a fatal hit-and-run in Stourbridge.

Joan Barwick Guilty of Dangerous Driving

Joan Barwick, 94, from Wollescote, pleaded guilty at Wolverhampton Crown Court on 5 February. She admitted causing the death of pedestrian Linda Wareham in a collision last April.

Fatal Crash Outside Tesco Express

The tragic incident took place at 4pm on 17 April last year on Hagley Road, near Tesco Express in Oldswinford. Linda Wareham, from Glasshouse Hill, suffered severe head injuries and died the next day at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.

Driver Stayed and Cooperated

Police confirmed Barwick stayed at the scene and fully cooperated. She was granted unconditional bail ahead of her sentencing hearing on 24 April at Wolverhampton Crown Court.
