Six drug dealers linked to a crack cocaine operation have been sentenced to nearly 15 years in prison after a £40,000 drug deal went wrong in a Hereford car park.
The criminal group, originating from Northamptonshire and Wales, were caught following an incident in a busy Morrisons car park in Hereford on Friday, 5 March 2021.
The failed deal sparked chaos in broad daylight, with witnesses reporting cash flying through the air, a man running with a knife, and one gang member sustaining a minor stabbing injury.
At Worcester Crown Court, the following sentences were handed down:
- Matthew Walford, 27, of Northampton, was jailed for 4 years for conspiracy to commit robbery and received an additional 2 concurrent years for class A drug supply.
- Jack Norrish, 30, from Brixworth, Northampton, was sentenced to 4 years for conspiracy to supply cocaine, plus 2 concurrent years, and ordered to pay a £190 victim surcharge.
- Ashley Manning, 30, with no fixed address, received 38 months for conspiracy to commit robbery along with a £190 victim surcharge.
- Jack Mooney, 31, of Corby, Northamptonshire, was given a 2-year suspended sentence for conspiracy to commit robbery, 20 days of rehabilitation activity, and a £156 victim surcharge.
- Jake Forsyth, 27, of Abertillery, Gwent, was sentenced to 3 years and 7 months for conspiracy to supply cocaine.
- Rebecca Edwards, 27, from Blackwood, Gwent, was handed a community order requiring 180 hours of unpaid work, £2,000 in costs, and a £95 victim surcharge for assisting an offender.
This crackdown serves as a strong warning to drug gangs distributing harmful substances on the streets of the UK.
