Tragedy in Cotesbach: Six-Year-Old Dies in Horror Crash
Police are hunting witnesses after a horrific smash in Cotesbach on Saturday left a six-year-old boy dead.
Deadly Collision on Rugby Road
The crash happened around 12:48pm on Rugby Road, involving a red Chrysler Crossfire and a grey Volkswagen Caddy van.
The Chrysler had just left Gibbet roundabout heading towards Lutterworth when it collided head-on with the van coming the opposite way.
Child Passenger Dies at Scene
The six-year-old boy, a passenger in the Chrysler, suffered serious injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Chrysler was seriously hurt and taken to hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
The van driver escaped injury.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
Officers want to speak with anyone who saw the crash or captured footage, especially the driver of a white 4×4 style vehicle and a woman who left the scene before police arrived.
“We know there were several people in the area at the time,” said PC 212 Suki Sahota. “Their information could be crucial to our investigation.”
