Tragedy struck in Hanbury, East Staffordshire, on Friday after a two-vehicle collision claimed the life of a woman in her 40s.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene shortly after 5pm on 8 August following reports of a crash involving a blue Volkswagen Polo and a yellow Kia Picanto. The collision happened at the junction of Tutbury Road and Hanbury Road.
Despite paramedics’ best efforts, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have informed her next of kin, who are being supported by specialist officers.
A man and another woman injured in the crash were taken to hospital but have since been released.
Detectives are urgently seeking a witness driving a red Honda Jazz-type vehicle. Although this car was not directly involved, it was travelling along Hanbury Road toward Anslow Gate around the time of the crash and may hold crucial information.
“We would like to speak to anyone who saw the collision or the events leading up to it, especially the driver of the red Honda Jazz-type vehicle, as they may have witnessed key details that could help our investigation,” said a Staffordshire Police spokesperson.
