Just after 10pm on Thursday, January 26, 2023, emergency services rushed to a devastating single-vehicle crash on Lee Valley Road. Witnesses reported that a woman’s car was involved in a high-speed collision, slamming into gates before bursting into flames.
Despite the frantic efforts of paramedics and firefighters, the woman was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle was completely engulfed in fire, trapping her inside and leaving no chance of survival.
Police have launched an investigation into the shocking collision. Lee Valley Road, near the Sewardstone Road junction, was closed for several hours as forensic teams examined the scene and inspected the vehicle, which is believed to be an electric car.
The Metropolitan Police, London Fire Brigade, and London Ambulance Service are all involved in the ongoing investigation. Authorities have stated that the road closure is expected to remain in place until mid-morning to allow for a thorough examination of the incident.
