Emergency crews were called to Sparrow’s Nest Gardens in Lowestoft shortly after 10pm on Friday, where a man in his 50s was discovered unconscious and unresponsive.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. Suffolk Police have since launched a full murder investigation into the incident.
A 28-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder at the park and is currently being held and questioned at Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre.
Authorities have confirmed that the victim and the suspect were known to each other, and the incident is believed to be isolated. The victim’s family have been informed of the tragic event.
Suffolk Police have stated that a Home Office post-mortem examination will be conducted to establish the exact cause of death.
Officers are appealing to anyone who was near Sparrow’s Nest Gardens around the time of the incident to come forward with information. Motorists with dashcam footage are particularly encouraged to assist the investigation.
