Emergency services responded to a tragic house fire in Hanwell, West London, early on Sunday, 4 May 2025. The London Fire Brigade (LFB) was alerted shortly after 5am following reports of thick smoke and people trapped inside a property on Humes Avenue.
Despite the rapid efforts of the firefighting crews, a fatality was confirmed at the scene. Neighbours watched in horror as multiple emergency calls were made and smoke billowed from the house.
The London Fire Brigade’s Fire Investigation Unit (FIU) has now taken over the investigation to determine the cause of the deadly fire. West London police have cordoned off the address, and forensic teams are examining the wreckage for evidence.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the identity of the victim. The investigation remains ongoing, with further updates expected once the cause of the blaze is established.
