A tragic incident occurred in Gosport this afternoon when a person died in Leelands Park despite urgent medical efforts. Paramedics and an air ambulance doctor responded quickly but were unable to save the individual who suffered massive injuries at the scene.
Emergency services were alerted just before 6pm. The South Central Ambulance Service dispatched an air ambulance, one ambulance crew, and two rapid response vehicles to the location. Medical teams worked tirelessly to provide life-saving treatment but the patient passed away at the scene.
Following the incident, Leelands Park has been sealed off by police. Officers remain stationed at the park entrance as the investigation continues. The cause of the injuries sustained by the person has not yet been confirmed.
A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service said, “We sent an air ambulance, one ambulance crew and two rapid response vehicles to the scene to assist and treat one patient in a life-threatening condition. The person passed away at the scene.”
