Kent Fire and Rescue rushed to a house on Mabledon Road, Tonbridge, after reports of an electrical fire in the dining room.

Two fire engines arrived promptly at the scene as firefighters donned breathing apparatus and fought the flames using hose reel jets.

High-powered fans were deployed to clear thick smoke from the property, ensuring the safety of the occupants and emergency crews.

One occupant suffered minor burns to his feet and leg. He was treated on site before being handed over to SECAmb paramedics for further care.

The blaze is believed to have been accidental. Fire crews have urged residents to avoid overloading power sockets and extension leads to help prevent similar fires in the future.
