A fierce fire ripped through an abandoned building in St George’s Place, Canterbury, on Saturday afternoon, 14 February. The flames erupted at 2:16pm, prompting a swift emergency response from firefighters.

Emergency services battled the blaze while road closures and evacuations were put in place to keep local residents safe. The fire caused significant damage to the derelict structure.

Kent Police have arrested two teenage boys, both aged 14, on suspicion of starting the fire. The boys have since been released on bail as the investigation continues.

Police are urgently appealing for anyone who witnessed the fire or captured footage on dashcam between 1pm and 2:15pm on 14 February to come forward. Witnesses with information or video evidence are asked to call 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/25824/26.

Tips can also be submitted anonymously through CrimeStoppers to assist with the ongoing investigation.
