Police were called to Nunhead Grove, SE15, at approximately 10:30am on Sunday, 4 September, following reports of a violent fight.

Officers and paramedics arrived at the scene to find a 16-year-old boy suffering from serious stab wounds. He was immediately taken to hospital and remains in critical condition. His family have been informed of the incident.

A 21-year-old man was arrested nearby on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently in police custody. The area around Nunhead Grove has been sealed off as a crime scene while investigations are ongoing.

Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Witnesses can contact the police on 101 or tweet @MetCC, quoting reference CAD 2727/4Sep. Alternatively, information can be reported anonymously through Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.

Authorities emphasize the importance of public assistance in helping to solve the case and bring those responsible to justice.
