A Surrey village has been sealed off after a daring attempt to steal an ATM late on Tuesday night. The incident has prompted a lockdown in the area as police work to apprehend those involved.

Authorities have imposed a hard road closure on the stretch between B367 Newark Lane and B368 Send Marsh Road. This has caused significant traffic chaos, with drivers being urged to seek alternative routes while the situation is addressed.

Due to the dangerous methods often used by thieves in ATM thefts, a secure cordon has been established to ensure public safety. Specialist officers are currently en route to the scene to provide additional support in managing the incident.

Surrey Police have been contacted for comment. Updates will be provided as the story develops.
