A woman has been arrested after a shocking video surfaced online showing a prison staff member reportedly having sex with an inmate inside HMP Wandsworth, a Category B men’s prison located in southwest London.
Scotland Yard launched an urgent investigation after receiving a tip-off about the disturbing clip, which is believed to have been filmed inside the jail. The woman is currently in police custody and is suspected of misconduct in public office.
A spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police confirmed: “Enquiries continue, and we are maintaining close communication with the Ministry of Justice.”
The Prison Service has emphasised its zero-tolerance policy on staff corruption, confirming that the staff member seen in the footage has been reported to the police.
This latest scandal comes at a time when HMP Wandsworth is under intense scrutiny due to a mounting crisis over poor conditions.
