Detectives from the Metropolitan Police are investigating a shooting that took place on Coldharbour Lane, Brixton, after multiple shots were fired from a vehicle in the early hours of Saturday, 2 May.
Police arrived at the scene within four minutes and, working alongside the London Ambulance Service, provided emergency assistance to those affected. Rapid Police Response Officers, including specialist crime units, responded swiftly to reports received at 1.14am. Their prompt arrival allowed first aid to be administered immediately to the victims.
Four individuals were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds. A 25-year-old man remains in a life-threatening condition, while three others, aged 21, 47, and 70, sustained injuries described as neither life-threatening nor life-changing.
The Metropolitan Police continue their inquiries into the shooting and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward with information. The motives behind the incident have not been released.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 1.13am on 2 May to reports of an incident near Coldharbour Lane, SW9.”
“We sent ambulance crews, incident response officers and paramedics from our joint response unit to the scene. We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance.”
“We treated four patients at the scene. We took two of them to a major trauma centre and the other two patients to a local hospital.”
