A massive fire tore through Acorns Health and Leisure Club in Copthorne early on Sunday, August 7, prompting a police investigation.

Firefighters rushed to the scene just before 7:40 a.m. after receiving a call from West Sussex Fire & Rescue. Upon arrival, the leisure centre was already well ablaze.

Both West Sussex Fire & Rescue and Sussex Police have warned local residents to steer clear of the area. The building remains unsafe, and police will maintain a presence as the investigation continues.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the fire to come forward. People can contact police online or call 101, quoting serial number 347 of 07/08. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be made through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
