The M5 is completely shut down in both directions between junctions 14 and 13 after a serious police incident in Gloucestershire.
Gloucestershire Police confirmed emergency crews raced to the scene of a serious collision on the northbound M5 near Michaelwood Services.
The crash was reported at around 11:40am on Tuesday between junctions 14 and 13, sparking a full shutdown of the motorway.
All lanes in both directions remain closed and are expected to stay shut for most of the day.
A police spokesperson warned: “All lanes in both directions between these junctions are currently closed and motorists are advised to find alternative routes. We will provide further updates once more information becomes available.”
