Leyton Stabbing Horror: Victim Named as David Martinez, 26
Police have named the victim of a fatal stabbing in Leyton as David Martinez, 26, a Spanish national. While formal ID is still pending, detectives are confident about his identity.
Fatal Stabbing in Leyton
The tragedy unfolded on North Birkbeck Road, E11, at 4:26pm on Wednesday, March 6. Emergency services, including the London Air Ambulance, rushed to the scene after reports of a stabbing. They found Mr Martinez suffering knife wounds.
Sadly, he died at the scene at 5:10pm. His next of kin has been informed.
Investigation Underway
A crime scene remains in place. Police believe the stabbing happened inside a nearby home before Mr Martinez left the address and collapsed in the street. Early inquiries suggest the victim and the suspect knew each other.
Detectives say the attack is not believed to be gang-related. A post-mortem is planned to determine the exact cause of death.
