Two people have been seriously injured following a severe head-on collision in Hatfield Broad Oak. Essex Police are currently seeking witnesses to help with their investigation into the crash.
The incident occurred at approximately 4.30pm on Friday 29 January on the B183. A black Audi R8, travelling from Hatfield Broad Oak towards The Four Ashes in Takeley, collided head-on with a white Ford C-Max. It is believed the Audi was attempting to overtake a Volvo at the time of the collision.
Both drivers and passengers involved in the crash sustained serious injuries. They were immediately taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where they remain in critical condition.
The B183 remains closed as officers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this serious collision.
Essex Police have urged anyone who witnessed the crash or saw the Audi R8 travelling towards The Four Ashes shortly before the incident to come forward. They are also requesting any dashcam footage that might assist in reconstructing the events leading up to the crash.
