Just before 9pm on Thursday, emergency services were called to a residential street in Erith, South East London, following reports of a shooting. A man was found with gunshot wounds after being attacked by four men wearing black balaclavas.

Paramedics arrived quickly and attempted to save the victim, but he tragically died at the scene on Hillside. The identity of the man has not yet been confirmed, and police are working to inform his next of kin.

The Metropolitan Police have launched a full investigation into the incident. The area remains cordoned off as officers conduct a thorough search for evidence. So far, no arrests have been made.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact the police by calling 101 or by tweeting @MetCC with the reference CAD7135/9Feb. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

The local community is encouraged to come forward and assist the police in bringing those responsible to justice.
